OQVIA / A FIRST INBOX

A first inbox.
And plenty to do.

31 October 2026 · Development journal

This note describes the first build. For the app as it stands today, see the current status.

OQVIA starts with a small idea: making software that feels good to use. Our first app will be a native email client for Mac and iPhone.

What we have started.

The first Mac version has been built and opened locally. It includes fictional messages, three-column navigation, Spaces, search, filters and a composer that saves drafts. Light and dark appearances have been reviewed.

Message, filter and draft logic is shared with iOS. Sharing that foundation does not mean reusing the same screen: each device needs its own navigation decisions.

What is still missing.

This first release was created without real account connections, sending, attachments or AI. The current Gmail integration status is on the availability page. The first iPhone interface has also been built and opened in Xcode's simulator; comprehensive and physical device testing are still pending. We are not announcing a public beta.

An identity of its own.

Our goal is an experience with its own identity: clear spaces, native materials and reading that does not compete for your attention.

The next priority is to complete the demo experience and move towards the first secure email provider. We will keep sharing what works and what is still missing.
